Good evening West Yadkin students and parents,

This is Principal Cody Hemric.

West Yadkin will conduct a lockdown drill on Thursday, March 18th.  The drill helps us practice our safety procedures in the event of an emergency.  It will be just like the drill we conducted in the fall.

Report cards will go home on March 18th.  Some parents will also receive additional letters.  A Dojo message will be sent to families that receive letters.

Preschool registration is now open.  Information is on the district website and you may call the school office for more details.

Kindergarten registration information is on the school website and district website.  The enrollment forms are located on the district site.  Please help spread the word to anyone you know that has a child needing to register for Preschool or Kindergarten.

Several of you may have heard about the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer or P-EBT card.  The school does not issue cards nor do we determine eligibility.  However, to be eligible for this card a family must fill out the application for free and reduced lunch and must qualify for the federal lunch program.  If you have not already filled out the lunch form and think you may qualify, please complete the form as soon as possible.  You may access the form on the district website or call the school office to obtain a form.  It is important to complete these forms not only for eligibility for the cards, but the number of students who qualify also helps determine our school funding.

Thank you, have a wonderful evening, and remember it’s a Great Day to Soar like an Eagle!

Good evening West Yadkin students and parents,

This is Principal Cody Hemric.

We have several announcements for tonight including the schedule after spring break. The last day to order a yearbook is March 31st.  You may order online, the link is on the school website under the parent tab click on yearbook.

Spring Break is next week, March 29th through April 5th.  Students will return on April 6th.  Dr. Martin has already sent a message concerning the calendar, middle and high returning to Plan A, and the remaining remote days.  The week after spring break students will attend Tuesday- Friday.  We will have a remote learning day for all students on April 14th and April 28th.  Students will attend all the other weeks 5 days a week.  Health and safety protocols will remain in place, such as disinfecting, physical distancing when possible and masks must be worn.  Visitors to campus will still be limited.  Schools continue to be required to follow the Schools Health Toolkit.  Other guidance may change after the break and I will keep everyone updated.

Kindergarten registration and Preschool registration information are on the school website and district website.  The enrollment forms are located on the district site.  Please help spread the word to anyone you know that has a child needing to register for Preschool or Kindergarten. You may call the school office for more details.

I appreciate your help with car line. It has improved so much.  If everyone will continue to work together it will help us keep everyone safe dismiss in a timely manner.

Thank you, have a wonderful evening, and remember it’s a Great Day to Soar like an Eagle!
