PBIS affects every student and staff member at West Yadkin. We use our SOAR Matrix to define the behavioral expectations of our students in locations throughout the campus.
We use Warm Fuzzies, Feathers, and Dojo Points as incentives for students across our campus. Warm Fuzzies (PreK - 2) & Feathers (3rd - 5th) are earned by the entire class. Dojo Points are used as individual incentives. Classes total their Warm Fuzzies or feathers to win classroom reward events. Dojo points will be used monthly by individual students to buy items from the PBIS reward cart.
Our staff uses PBIS Infraction Documentation and Class Dojo, to track student behavior and to help modify for students needing more assistance. Students that are having behavioral difficulties can be recommended for Check In-Check Out, mentoring, or focus groups. All of these programs begin in September of each year and parent notification for student participation will be sent home.
